The archive of Matkins the Oakham printer, a collection
of examples of Matkins’ output from the late nineteenth
to the mid twentieth centuries, is a good resource for
those studying local social history and is deposited at
Rutland Museum.
A temporary version of the catalogue of this archive,
comprising 554 catalogue entries, is available on line by
visiting the Rutland Museum website, selecting
Collections then Volunteer Projects.
A word search using Find will locate relevant records.
This Matkins catalogue is a temporary expedient,
pending a current major long-term project which
concerns the transfer of existing catalogue entries onto a
new database.
